ZIEL was founded in 2004 by Ms. Moushami D. Kulkarni and Mrs. Kalyani Marathe — two language educators who had spent over 15 years teaching languages internationally before bringing that expertise back to Mumbai.
Their experience working in international educational environments gave them a clear-eyed view of what was missing in Mumbai's language coaching market: rigour, small batches, international alignment, and an obsession with student outcomes.
Two decades later, ZIEL remains founder-managed — ensuring that the original vision of quality-first language education has never been diluted.

ZIEL Foreign Language Academy established at Vidyavihar West, Mumbai by Ms. Moushami D. Kulkarni and Mrs. Kalyani Marathe — both with 15+ years of international language teaching experience.
First Certifications
First batch of students achieved Goethe-Zertifikat and DELF certifications, establishing ZIEL's reputation for exam-ready preparation in Mumbai.
Expanded to 5 Languages
Added Japanese and Chinese programmes, making ZIEL one of the very few institutes in Mumbai to offer all five major world languages under one roof.
Corporate Division
Launched a dedicated corporate language training division. Companies including manufacturing firms and MNCs began sending employees for structured language upskilling.
Translation & Dubbing
Expanded services to professional translation and voice-over/dubbing, serving media, legal, and corporate clients across Mumbai and beyond.
20 Years of Excellence
